Fujifilm Malaysia has just launched two new products in conjunction with its Shoot.Print.Share Fiesta currently held at Berjaya Times Square: the FUJIFILM X-T2 and the instax SHARE Smartphone Printer SP-2.
FUJIFILM X-T2
The new X-T2 is the successor to the popular X-T1 and it’s been given several notable upgrades, including 4K video recording. The camera features a 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III APS-C sensor, the same sensor present on Fujifilm’s X-Pro2 camera. The sensor makes do without an anti-aliasing filter to retain detail in images captured.
Autofocus has been improved as compared to the X-T1, with a hybrid AF system with 91 AF points. An improved focus tracking algorithm and faster top mechanical shutter speed also allow the new X-T2 to be no slouch when it comes to capturing sports and action photography.
As mentioned before, the Fujifilm X-T2 now features 4K video-recording, a first for Fuji’s X-series of cameras. The camera can record up to 10 minutes of 4K footage but when equipped with Fuji’s new optional VPB-XT2 battery grip, recording time is boosted up to 30 minutes.
The Vertical Power Booster Grip VPB-XT2 fits two extra batteries, lengthening battery life and increasing the number of shots you can take. The extra grip allows you to enable a “Boost” mode that enhances the shutter burst, shutter-release time and blackout time, along with longer 4K video recording mentioned earlier.
As for design and ergonomics, minor alterations are made to the dials, grips and eye-cup. The camera body (made from magnesium alloy) is weather sealed and is resistant to moisture and dust. The camera also now supports dual SD card slots for seamless photo-taking and extra storage for 4K video recording.
instax SHARE Smartphone Printer SP-2
Besides the X-T2, the instax SHARE SP-2 also made its debut. The instax SHARE series comprises of instant film printers that print photos directly from your smartphone. A follow-up to the SP-1, the SP-2 features improved Wi-Fi connectivity and faster print speeds (10 seconds per print as compared to 16 seconds from the SP-1).
The printer’s companion app, instax SHARE, that’s available on both Android and iOS devices, has also been revamped. You can edit how your prints will turn out through the use of creative filters and collage printing.
You can check out these two products and more at Fujifilm’s Shoot.Film.Share Fiesta at Berjaya Times Square that will run for 4 days (18th – 21st of August 2016). There will also be workshops and contests during the event for those looking for something more creative.
The Fujifilm XT2 will be available in September for RM7,688 (body only), and RM8,988 for a bundle with the XF18-55 kit lens. The instax SHARE SP-2 is available for pre-order at RM848 with free instax films.
