Just as promised, MaybankPay, is now available to download for all Malaysians. The country’s first mobile payments service supports Android devices running version 4.4 and above.
After a brief beta testing period, the mobile payments app is now officially available at the Google Play Store, offering the first real look at mobile payments in Malaysia. The system is now available across 1,000 merchants nationwide that offer the Visa PayWave terminals.
Currently, MaybankPay is limited only to Visa credit, debit, and prepaid cards. The service is also limited to devices with NFC, and running at least Android 4.4 KitKat. The Google Play Store link will show a list of your devices that supports the app.
