Grab Launches Johor-Singapore Ride-Sharing Service

Grab launched a new cross-border ride-sharing service between Johor and Singapore. Starting 20 June, GrabHitch users will be able to hitch rides with people heading across the causeway in both directions – allowing them to save on their daily commute and travel with a little more comfort.

Fares are subject to a cross-border surcharge, but are otherwise calculated normally by distance. Passengers can begin looking for rides up to seven days before the actual trip, and will be notified when a potential match has been found.

Grab Car For Reals

Grab expects a ride from Johor Baru City Square to Orchard Road will cost about RM20 or SGD14 for the return journey. Fares will be displayed ahead of time, providing passengers the necessary information to plan their journey.

A promotion will be run from 20 June to 20 August for Johor-bound rides. Passengers who use the “hitch2jb” promo code will receive a SGD5 discount on all weekday trips that go further than 10km.
