These days, RM1 can’t even get you your favourite roti canai. But, for the next week starting 7 April, RM1 can take you anywhere within a 5km driving distance, thanks to Grab’s latest promotion.

With the popularity of ride-sharing apps hitting ever-greater heights, Grab’s latest charm offensive will surely appeal to Malaysians looking to escape the current heatwave to nearby malls.

For the next seven days beginning 7 April 2016, all GrabCar rides within a 5km distance that are paid with a debit or credit card will cost only RM1. Best of all, this isn’t a promotion limited to one ride per user – all GrabCar users can make use of this offer as many times as they like for the entire week!

Based on Grab’s estimates, this promotion will allow you to travel from Mont Kiara to Publika, TTDI to The Curve, or Suria KLCC to Pavillion for just RM1. No hidden charges, no booking fees – GrabCar rides have always charged a fixed fare regardless of the time spent on the road.

Speaking about the promotion, Grab Malaysia’s Country Manager, Jaygan Fu, had this to say:

Since our inception in 2012, Grab (formerly known as MyTeksi) has been seeking opportunities to provide safe and reliable alternative options of transportation with the equal assurance of speed and a certainty of vehicle. And in view of recent economic circumstances, we are also taking affordability of rides into serious consideration as well.

So, how do you enjoy this unlimited RM1 promotion? Customers just need to follow these simple steps:

  1.  Download the Grab app and tap the Grabcar (RM1 Ride) icon.
  2. Enter your credit/debit card details.
  3. Choose your pickup and drop off points.
  4. Book your ride – no promo codes required!

Usually, GrabCar rides that are within 5km in driving distance will be charged RM7. During this promotion, all non-Premium rides within 5km and paid with credit or debit card will be deducted RM6 off. This also applies to rides of 5km and above.

This promotion will last for one week only, and is applicable to all current and new Grab users. RM1 rides are only applicable for rides in the Klang Valley as well as in Johor Bahru. For more information about this promotion, check out the official page here.
