HP Malaysia has unleashed a slew of Skylake laptops in Malaysia. These include the Pavilion Gaming notebook, limited edition Spectre x360 convertible, Envy 13 laptop, Star Wars Special Edition notebook, and of course, the Spectre x2 tablet.

The main highlight is definitely the new Spectre x2. Announced just a couple of months ago, it is essentially HP’s take on the Surface form factor, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The x2 has a 12-inch 1920 x 1280 IPS touchscreen display, a Skylake-based Intel Core m3-6Y30 processor paired with 4GB of LDDR3 RAM, 128GB of SSD storage, 8MP rear and 5MP front-facing cameras, as well as a 42WHr battery. What makes the x2 particularly interesting is its laptop-like keyboard – made out of metal – and a metal frame kickstand.

Other than the Spectre x2, HP also brought in the limited edition variant of the Spectre x360. Other than the new colour scheme (which HP dubs Ash Silver with Copper accents), this is a refreshed x360. It features a 13.3-inch 1080p IPS display, an Intel Core i7-6500U processor paired with 8GB of LDDR3 RAM, a 256GB SSD, and a 56Whr battery.

Those who don’t fancy a convertible will want to check out the Envy 13. Touted as HP’s slimmest laptop yet, it measures only 12.9mm thin and weighs a mere 1.36kg. As for its specification, the Envy 13 has a 13.3-inch 3200 x 1800 QHD+ IPS display, an Intel Core i5-6200U or i7-6500U processor paired with 4GB or 8GB of LDDR3 RAM, up to 256GB of SSD storage, and a 45Whr battery.

HP also has something for gamers with the Pavilion Gaming laptop. Aside from its green colour scheme, this gaming laptop is aimed at more “mainstream gamers,” according to HP. As it’s packed with an NVIDIA GTX 950M graphics card, it should be able to run casual games well. Other specifications of the Pavilion Gaming include a 15.6-inch 1080p display, a Core i5-6300HQ or i7-6700HQ processor paired with up to 8GB of RAM, a 1TB 5,400rpm SATA HDD, and a 48Whr battery. Also launched at today’s event is the Star Wars Special Edition notebook. We’ll take a closer look at this sleek-looking laptop in a different article.

All of these products are now available for purchase in Malaysia. The HP Spectre x2, x360, Envy 13, Pavilion Gaming and Star Wars Special Edition laptop are priced from RM3,999, RM4,999, RM3,699, RM3,499 and RM3,999 respectively.
