Summoners have been using the League of Legends client for the past six years and Riot has decided that it’s time for an upgrade. The company will be opening up slots for the alpha client construction crew for one of the world’s most popular MOBA game.
Similar to Dota 2’s Reborn update, League of Legend’s updated alpha client will be based on three primary upgrades. First, will be the technology used in the game client. The company will be ridding the game of its current tech framework and build one from the ground up. This would make the client stable, reliable and easier for developers to add new features in the future.
The game client will also get a new design. This is a chance for the company to come up with a fresh, more streamlined interface. Besides that, Riot will also be improving the game’s communication line. The updated client will bring a standalone friend’s list so that players don’t need to open the full-size client to chat. The list lets players see who is in-game, message them, and launch into the game right away.
To join the alpha construction crew, those interested have to be a level 30 League of Legends player. Summoners with a good history of in-game behaviour will also be prioritised. Registration for the alpha phase starts in 2016.
