(Update: Official Pre-Order Price Released) BlackBerry Confirms The BB Priv’s Price and Specifications

[UPDATE @ 3:05pm, 26 October 2015] BlackBerry has officially launched the pre-order for the BlackBerry Priv. The company has reduced the price and brought the shipping date forward. More Below.

BlackBerry might have revealed the BlackBerry Priv‘s price as well as confirmed the device’s specifications. An official pre-order page temporarily appeared online revealing previously unknown details about the phone; it looks like someone accidentally jumped the gun with the announcement.

BlackBerry’s latest slider, the BlackBerry Priv has been receiving a lot of mixed feelings from the public. Some like the concept of having Android on a sliding smartphone, some are skeptical of Android’s level of security.

The BlackBerry Priv features a 5.4-inch dual-curved screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Under the hood, it runs on a 64-bit hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset along with the Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB RAM. The device comprises of 32GB internal memory and a microSD card slot that supports up to 2TB when it becomes available.

On the back, it has a 18MP Schneider-Kreuznach camera and a 2MP front shooter. Powering the device is a generous 3,410,Ah battery that has rapid recharge function. In terms of connectivity, the unlocked version of the Priv is compatible with most networks and FD-LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 17, 20, 29, 30. The device weighs 192 grams and is 9.4mm thick.

The device will be sold at the pre-order price of $749 (about RM3,210) and shipping will start on 16 November 2015 in the US.  No word yet on whether it will reach Malaysian shores and how much it will be.

[UPDATE @ 3:05pm, 26 October 2015] : The Blackberry Priv’s pre-order price will be at a lower $699 (RM2,970) than the initial $749 (about RM3,210). Shipping will also start earlier on 6 November 2015 instead of 16 November 2015. For more information, head on to the pre-order page here.
