Can’t wait to get your hands on a gaming laptop equipped with Intel’s Skylake processor? Then good news; MSI has refreshed several of its gaming laptops with the sixth generation processor. These include the GT72 Dominator Pro G, GT72 Dominator G, and GS70 Stealth Pro gaming laptops.
Hardware-wise, the GT72 Dominator Pro G is the beefiest offering of the three. It is equipped with a 17.3-inch 1920 x 1080 resolution anti-glare IPS display, an overclockable Intel Core i7-6820HK processor paired with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M graphics card, a 1TB 7200rpm HDD, and Windows 10 Home. It also features NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology.
The GT72 Dominator G, on the other hand, shares many similarities with the model above. However, we’re told by MSI Malaysia that it’s equipped with a slightly slower (but still very capable) Core i7-6700HQ processor and a GTX 970M – although the official specification sheet is showing a GTX 980M instead.
As for the GS70 Stealth Pro, it’s a slimmer alternative to the other two. In terms of hardware, it has a 17.3-inch 1080p anti-glare IPS display, an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a GTX 970M graphics card, and a 256GB SSD along with a 1TB 7200rpm HDD. It also comes with Windows 10 Home.
With this refresh, MSI has also introduced Super RAID 4. Basically, it combines two PCIe NVMe M.2 drives into RAID 0, which is capable of read speed of up to a whopping 3,300MB/s. However, while this is available on the GT72, it’s not featured on the GS70.
These MSI gaming laptops are now available to be ordered from two locations: MSI Concept Kiosk located in Digital Mall Petaling Jaya, and MSI Concept Store at Komtar, Jalan Penang. These laptops are expected to be available sometime this week. The GT72 Dominator Pro G, GT72 Dominator G, and GS70 Stealth Pro will go for RM11,499, RM9,499 and RM9,388 respectively.
