Brinell Has Some Really Handsome-Looking SSDs

External drives are for the most part, boring. At least, when it comes to their designs. If you’re looking to stand out from the crowd, Brinell has some really sleek-looking external SSDs to do just that. They are available in four distinct materials: leather, steel, carbon, and even wood.

Brinell is a German company that has a Red Dot award for earlier designs of its SSD, and it’s not hard to see why. The leather option, for one, features genuine nappa leather integrated to a metal frame. The wood option, on the other hand, features Makassar Ebony wood. No faux wood material here, which explains the slightly higher asking price for this option.

Underneath the handsome-looking exterior of these Brinell SSDs is a Samsung EVO SSD, which is capable of read and write speed of 420MB/s over USB 3.0; plenty fast for backing up your data. The USB 3.0 cable is also seamlessly integrated into the SSD itself, ensuring that you won’t lose the cable (although it seems to be rather short). In terms of capacity, these SSDs are available in three sizes: 200GB, 500GB and 1TB.

As for the retail prices of these Brinell SSDs, the steel, carbon and leather options retail at 199 euro (about RM915), 299 euro (approximately RM1,375)and 599 euro (around RM2,750) for the 200GB, 500GB and 1TB variants respectively. The wood finish, on the other hand, costs 20 euro (about RM90) extra. Unfortunately, Brinell does not seem to ship to Malaysia.
