Digi recently added two new devices to its bundle – Samsung Galaxy A8 and Galaxy J5. These are the latest Samsung smartphones to reach the Malaysian market and were both launched here about a week ago.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 retails at RM1,888 and the Samsung Galaxy J5 retails for RM799, but if you sign up for a 2 years contract with Digi under one of its latest postpaid plans, you can purchase both devices at a subsidised price. As always, Digi is offering them with its SmartPlan postpaid plans with either High Voice or High Data quota.
All of the postpaid plans in this bundle comes with free unlimited WhatsApp and WeChat, free Music Freedom, and free storage on Capture. As always, upfront payment is required for all the plans, and will be credited back to your bill over your contract period.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 is the slimmest smartphone Samsung has ever made. It is a mid-range smartphone that features a 5.7” Full HD display and is powered by a Samsung Exynos 5430 octa-core processor with four 1.8GHz cores and four 1.3GHz cores. There are 2GB of RAM on board paired with 32GB of expandable storage. Other specs include 16MP rear f/1.9 camera, 5MP f/1.9 front camera, NFC, LTE connectivity, 3,050mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1.1 out of the box.
As for the Galaxy J5, it is an entry-level smartphone that sports a 5” 720p display, and is powered by a Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). Other specs include 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera with LED flash, LTE, NFC, dual SIM, 2,600mAh battery, and runs on Android 5.1 out of the box.
