As promised, Jabra has officially launched its brand new Sport Coach Wireless headset just few hours ago here in Malaysia. Using its long experience as wireless headset maker, the new Bluetooth wireless headset is apparently optimized for cross training which has gained popularity as of late thanks to the rise of CrossFit, fitness boot camp and their equivalents.
Physical-wise, the Sport Coach Wireless looked almost identical to the Sport Pulse Wireless that Jabra launched last year. However, the new Sport Coach Wireless is equipped with a motion sensor called TrackFit instead of a heart rate monitor. This particular sensor is apparently designed to keep track of pace, distance, step count, cadence and calories for users that include running in their fitness regime while using the headset.
Just like the previously released Sport Pulse Wireless headset, the Sport Coach Wireless utilizes Jabra’s own Sport Life app to deliver audio-based coaching to users. At the same time, users are also able to create and track their own customized workout regimes through the app. Not to forget, users are also able to record their Cooper test – a well-known physical fitness test – result in the app.
The new Sport Coach Wireless also comes with Dolby Audio enhancements which can be actived through Jabra Sound App. In terms of battery life, the 16 grams’ headset is able to deliver up to 5.5 hours of talk or music time together with 10 days’ worth of standby time.
In order to allow the headset to cope with the tough condition that might happened during a workout, Jabra has made the Sport Coach Wireless headset to be sweat and weather resistant. It is also built with NFC to help users connect the headset to NFC-equipped smartphones easily.
Priced at RM 649, the new Jabra Sport Coach Wireless headset is available immediately through selected retailers including IT Hypermarket, EpiCentre, Machines, RadioShack, and Viewnet. That being said, Lowyat.NET readers are actually able to obtain it at slightly lower price of RM 579 until 2 August through a special pre-order program by Jabra’s sole distributor in Malaysia, Mobile Dot Com Network.
