Acting as a canvas for gamers to express their personality, Chroma Backlighting is a fully customizable backlight system that is available on a selection of Razer’s gaming peripherals such as the BlackWidow keyboard, DeathAdder mouse, Naga Epic wireless mouse, and Kraken 7.1 headset. Today, the list grows once again with the launch of the new Razer Firefly mouse mat.
Essentially a hard gaming mouse mat that is designed to cater to both speed and control playstyles, the Chroma Backlighting array is equipped into its left, right, and bottom borders. Users are able to set the colours – all 16.8 million of them – through Razer Synapse software which will then subsequently stores the setting online so that users able to retrieve back the colour settings for their Firefly mouse mat from any Internet-connected PC.

Additionally, Synapse also allow users to sync the colour settings between all of their Chroma-equipped Razer peripherals. To power the Chroma Backlighting on Firefly, Razer utilizes a 2.13 meters USB cable which comes complete with gold-plated connector. To ensure the stability of the mouse mat during gaming sessions, Razer has also equipped it with a non-slip rubber base.
Said to be released throughout the world starting next month, Razer has yet to announce its actual availability in Malaysia. Nevertheless, we do know that the Firefly does carry a price tag of RM 239 according to the listing at Razer’s official online store.
