The much anticipated Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge is finally here in Malaysia. Just as we expected, the prices – inclusive of GST – start from RM2,599 and RM3,099 for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge respectively. If you can’t wait to get your hands on one of these two flagship smartphones, both will be available for pre-order tomorrow.
The Galaxy S6 is markedly different from its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S5. In comparison, the S6 has a much more premium construction thanks to its glass back and metal frame. It is also considerably more powerful, with the company’s Exynos 7420 octa-core processor under its hood instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor of the Galaxy S5.
Other specifications include a 5.1-inch 2560 x 1440 Super AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM, 16MP rear and 5MP front-facing cameras, LTE connectivity, and a 2,550mAh battery with Fast Charge support. It also comes with 32GB of non-expandable storage.
The Galaxy S6 edge, on the other hand, is virtually identical to its “regular” sibling, the Galaxy S6. What makes it different, however, is its dual-curved display. Although the S6 edge’s display is curved on both sides, it is still similar to the 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED display of the S6.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 will go for RM2,599 for the 32GB model while the Galaxy S6 edge is set at RM3,099 for the 32GB variant. From what we have gathered at the launch event, it seems like there are no plans yet to bring in the 64GB and 128GB variants of both smartphones.
Interested buyers can place their pre-order tomorrow here. It’s worth noting that every pre-order will come with a free wireless charger. Needless to say, it is definitely beneficial to place a pre-order tomorrow.
If you’re willing to wait, the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will be officially available on 17th April, although the availability of these two smartphones on that day will depend on the amount of pre-orders that Samsung Malaysia have received. Pre-orders will go on from 3rd to 12th April 2015.
