Man Mistakenly Calls Police Over Shooting In Grand Theft Auto

Grand Theft Auto V

Once in awhile, we’ll often hear stories of people who mistakenly call the police over trivial matters. One Englishman however, called the police over a shooting that took place in the Grand Theft Auto universe. As one can already assume, the police weren’t too happy when they received the call.

The man in question, 25 year old David Helens was reported by The Mirror to have been playing Grand Theft Auto with his friend Max. When Max was wounded in the game, Helens made the call to the local authorities. Helens told the police that his friend had suffered a gun shot wound to the chest and was drifting in and out of consciousness. He also thought that Max had died before the ambulances could arrive.

As expected, two ambulances were sent to Helens’ house but were surprised to find that the gun shot wound that Helens was describing was one that took place in the universe of Grand Theft Auto and not our own. Helens’ pleaded guilty in court hearings and was sentenced to 12 months of community work. His sentence requires him to work for 120 hours unpaid and will also be supervised for the next 18 months.

Whether all this was just a result of a harmless prank or practical joke, one thing is for sure. Helens has clearly demonstrated what happens if you mess with the authorities.
