Two weeks ago, it was revealed that the next version of Windows which is codenamed “Threshold” or more fondly known as Windows 9 might make its first official public appearance at the end of this month. While Microsoft has yet to make any official statement regarding that matter, it turns out that the company might have accidentally teases the new operating system to the world.
However, no actual screenshot of Windows 9 was posted online though. What actually happened was that Microsoft China through its Weibo channel has published the logo above alongside a caption that stated, “Microsoft’s latest OS Windows 9 is coming soon, do you think the start menu at the left bottom will make a come back?”.
Although the immediate removal of the logo signalled that the post was indeed a mistake, it is still a good sign that the unveiling date of Windows 9 shouldn’t be far away. In fact, it will take place in just a matter of weeks if the rumour regarding the 30 September press event holds true.
