Can’t get enough of them messengers for your smartphone? Well, here’s one more to add to your list as Pinterest adds messaging service in its app for Android, iOS, as well as web.
If you give your Pinterest app an update, you’ll be greeted with the new capability under the existing “Send a pin” feature. Of course, messaging on Pinterest is more than just a tool to send messages and files in a private chat. The company calls it “more of a conversation around an object than just a quick hello”.
Once you find an interesting Pin you’d like to share with a follower, just send the Pin to a friend and he/she will be able to reply back with a message or send you a Pin back. What makes this feature interesting is that every Pin sent in a private message still retains all the functionality so you’ll still be able to pin it to your own board, send it to another friend or favorite it.
The updated Pinterest also allows for group messaging so if you’re organizing a trip with friends, you’ll be able to send Pins to everyone to plan where to go, what to bring along, and such.
This isn’t a particularly large update but if you’re a heavy Pinterest user, it’s definitely a very useful tool to have.
