Not Actual Screen
In hopes to go head to head with Apple’s CarPlay, Google is looking to show their very own In-Car system at their I/O conference next week. Rather than have a dedicated OS for an in-car system, Google is looking to project data from your Android smartphone to a car’s dashboard screen. Known as “Auto Link” internally, it will allow you to navigate the “Google Experience” using the cars own buttons, dials and controls. It’s reported that Google will not be announcing particular supported cars at I/O, instead only demonstrating the functionality.
