Earlier we wrote about Sony’s latest camera to bolster its A7 family, the A7s. The incredible camera has the ability to go right up to the upper echelons of ISO 409,600 expanded which matches the top end Nikon D4s which is definitely a much more expensive camera. So what is 409,600 like?
The picture above shows exactly how dark the room is as a control, bear in mind even at ISO 6400, the room is pitch black with the exception of the residual light from the window.
Even though its grainy as expected, at 409,600 ISO you can clearly see pretty much everything in the room which is quite amazing. Camera sensors have come one heck of a long way from even the launch of the previous generation top end models. To put things into perpective, here’s a shot from the A7s, shot at a very usable 102,400 ISO to show that even at the low 6 figures, the A7s performs amazingly!
