Olympus Puts High End Stabilization To Its Entry Level Compact Camera

One of the most impressive features from the top of the range Olympus cameras has got to be the five-axis stabilisation that helps you beat the shaky hand picture syndrome. We first saw it on the E-P5 demonstration on a rapidly moving platform to simulate extremely shaky conditions. The amazing thing is that despite all of the movement, the pictures came out completely tack sharp!

Olympus is bringing that functionality right all the way down to their US$400 Stylus SH-1 point and shoot camera which features an f/3.0 – 6.9 aperture range and 16MP BSI CMOS sensor with the same TruePic VII processor as its very much bigger brother the OM-D. In all honesty this camera is so packed full of features it may actually rule the roost for point and shoot cameras to date.
