Uber Announces Permanent Price Cut, Now 35% Cheaper

Luxury limo service Uber has announced a permanent price cut for its services in Kuala Lumpur. Effective immediately, prices for all UberBLACK services will be reduced by 35%, and Uber has also reduced its minimum fare to just RM5.

The new rates, which apply for the UberBLACK (the only Uber service in KL, which utilizes a fleet of cars such as the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Mercedes E Class and even the BMW 7 Series) are as below:

These new prices definitely make Uber a lot more competitive against standard taxi services. In fact, Uber is now even cheaper than standard taxis after midnight, where taxis impose a midnight surcharge. Plus, you’ll be driven around in a much more comfortable car regardless of the time of day, which can be quite a blessing for those of you who have had rather unpleasant experiences being stuck in the legendary KL traffic.

However, the G60G60 double referral offer will end at the end of this month. The double referral programme, which offers a promo code to share with friends for RM60 off their first ride and once they ride, will provide you with RM60 in Uber credits, will revert to the usual G30G30 promotion.

Download the Uber app for Android here and iOS here.
