The YotaPhone is a name synonymous with the most elegant e-ink companion solution to the modern smartphone and at MWC 2014, Yota Devices has just made it even better. In its second iteration, a full year after we first saw the original YotaPhone, the device gets a much needed specs and design facelift.
The updated YotaPhone now has Snapdragon 800 SoC processor, 5Inch 1080p AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, 32GB storage, 2,550mAh battery with wireless charging, 8MP camera and of course the 4.7Inch qHD always-on e-ink display. The new design is very beautiful, slimmer and more curved reminiscent of the old Nexus 4. Another big change is that the e-Ink display will be completely touch screen, opposed to limited functionality of the older model.
Yota Devices plans to launch the YotaPhone in 20 markets across the EMEA by the end of 2014. Is that too long of a wait for the specs in this phone or will the e-ink display trump all?
