It’s always a good thing when we get sentimental and nostalgic about technology, how many times have you reminisced about times gone by and realised there was so much to talk about? Welcome to The Throwback IT Show.
This week, we take a look back at data storage solutions. Back in the day, USB flash drives and even DVDs were not in existence. For data storage, we turned to floppy disks – both the 5.25in and 3.5in variety – and for the more financially able, there was the Iomega Zip disk, which could store about 80 times more than what a 3.5in floppy disk can!
Join us as we go back in time and remember what it felt like using 1.44MB floppy disks, downloading data via a 56k mode, and later on, burning MP3s on 700MB CD-R!
