HP Slate6 / Slate7 VoiceTab

When the last time you heard about HP smartphones? Well, never mind if you don’t remember them anymore but nevertheless, prepare to see the company churning out smartphones once again starting with the new HP Slate6 VoiceTab and Slate7 VoiceTab phablets that were made official yesterday.

The official announcement by HP didn’t list down the specifications in detail though but the company did state that both Android phablets are powered by an unknown quad-core processor. Apart from having telephony functions, they also feature 3G dual SIM with dual standby capability as well as front-facing stereo speakers similar to the one that HTC’s BoomSound.

The company’s blog further state that both phablets will run Android 4.2 and will come standard with IPS display panel together with 5-megapixels rear camera (complete with LED flash) and 2-megapixels front camera. In terms of storage, they are equipped with 16GB internal storage and support for up to 32GB microSD card.

With a thickness of 8.98mm for Slate6 VoiceTab and 9.5mm for Slate7 VoiceTab, there is also a scratch-resistance carbon fibre back cover with pixelated design on both phablets. While both HP Slate6 and Slate 7 VoiceTab will be released in India in February, their availability status and pricing information for Malaysian market is not yet known at the time being.
