There comes a time in every tech writer’s life that reviews get stale and going through the motions is the most attractive way to go. Since we are Lowyat.NET, we decided to go out and do what we do best and do a review of a product in a most “real world” scenario as possible. We decided (well, I decided and then forced Pang) to get up at 5am on a Saturday morning to attempt the famous Bukit Tabur. Armed with the Lowepro Flipside Sport 15L AW packed with 2 cameras and other random knick-knacks as well as our trusty guide/videographer/Post Production Specialst Amir, here’s the result of our labour.

Since we didn’t have the energy or frame of mind to record a conclusion head on over to the jump for what I thought of the bag.

Conclusion

The Lowpro Flipside Sport 15L AW is a really great bag for all intents and purposes. If you are planning to use it for hiking or trail photography, this is one heck of a bag. The straps and back vents did their job in not retaining any latent heat and the bag was padded enough to weather the scratches of descending Bukit Tabur. The one thing I can fault is that in all honesty, the bag is a little too single purpose for me. If we are honest, It would not be an ideal walkabout bag or all purpose bag because of the lack of pockets and perhaps the shape, but Lowepro is not skirting around the fact because infact the bag is designed just for outdoor enthusiasts. Also I would have wanted the waist strap to be a little more reinforced if I was going to be suspending it from there for such an extended period of time.

All in all, if you are into this sort of photography, the Lowepro Flipside Sport 15L is a great bag for you. Highly recommend it!

Thanks to Amir Othman for the video work!
