Twitter is 7 today. The quirky social network, where status updates are limited to only 140 characters, grew to redefine social media, not to mention an extension to a user’s professional network, news feed and random facts. To mark the day, Twitter released a commemorative video highlighting how much it has grown over the years.
From the very first tweet, to the hashtag revolution, and the more recent introduction of Vine, the video perfectly captures the evolution of Jack Dorsey’s creation. Today, Twitter has over 200 million active users worldwide and there are over 400 million tweets sent every day.
