Things seem to have evened out over at BlackBerry HQ after the departure of former CEO Thorsten Heins as well as some key members of the organisation. BlackBerry’s new CEO John Chen is confident that BlackBerry is here to stay and today issued an open letter to all their valued enterprise customers. In that letter, Chen said that BlackBerry would return to their heritage and roots – delivering enterprise grade, end-to-end mobile solutions and won’t be ditching hardware, keeping it as one of four target areas along with cross-platform messaging.

Question is, what about the consumers who are not enterprise customers? What loyal BlackBerry users expect from BB10 and 2014? Hopefully what John Chen says is right and 2014 is indeed the year to show that BlackBerry is here to stay. They better hurry though, it looks like Microsoft is getting very comfortable in that 3rd place…
