Remember Bump, that file sharing app you used to use to send files on your smartphone because back then the iPhone didn’t even allow people to send MMS? Well, it looks like Google has acquired Bump along with another Bump owned app, Flock (photo sharing app).
In case you are not familiar with the app, it allow users to send files, contacts, photos and such between smartphones. All users have to do is download the app on their smartphone, activate it and “bump” the phones together to initiate the transfer. It’s been over four years since Bump was first launched and it has received numerous improvements over the years including Bump for computer and the introduction of Flock.
Back to the acquisition, according to Bump’s blog, everything will be the same for now, both “Bump and Flock will continue to work as they always have”. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see what Google plans to do with its new buy.
