One argument against digital downloads is the problem of sharing. As in, if I have four computers, I can only play it on one computer at a time. Or buy multiple copies. That is coming to an end. Steam is introducing Steam Family Sharing, which allows users to share each others libraries.
Only 10 computers can be authorised to access your library, and you will have to share the entire library. Nothing about sharing one game at a time. Great for families, also great for very close friends who don’t always play the same game at the same time. This will bring back the good old days of trading games between friends and will probably reduce the need to pirate games. Just do what you used to do and borrow it off your best friend.
Registration for Steam Family Sharing Beta will start in September, so head over to the website to sign up.
