i have done test drive for this model….this model is all better than preve….handling more sharp than preve and the power of engine is more power full i can fell it the force induction of the engine at RPM 2000 to 4000 is easy to reach 140km/h….but tyre brand achiles is very noise maybe it size of tyre 215/45 17 inch rim….all part so far very good

….head player dye memang pakai android tapi sensitive touch dye kurang maybe sebab screen protector kot…..blaupunk yang manufacture player nie….sound sistem adjustment memang mesra penguna…..bunyi pun memang memuaskan….apa pun terbaik

    • Goondusamy Velluappan

How can you say this Suprema S is more powerful than Preve, when the official specs released by Proton has already stated it takes longer for Suprema to reach 100kmh compared to the Preve? Top-speed wise, the Suprema again loses to the Preve by being 10km/h slower. This means your feeling of speed is inaccurate, bro

    • Azri

Suprima has kurb weight 55kg more than preve.

  • Sathy

Proton Suprima the same old story with 80s interior, heavier with less top speed compared to Preve defeating the use of the word S = Sport! Sports versions should be integrated with higher specs not slower than the normal Preve! 9.9 secs to reach 100km/h compared to 9.6secs for Preve! Well done Suprima S! What the hell are Proton engineers thinking? Malaysians are stupid? Another flop from a flop car manufacturer!

    • Goondosamy Velluappan

I second your opinions. How can this SPORTS version be slower and less-quick than the non-sports Preve? what a joke

    • Sathy

Seriously Proton engineers have to come up with new terms or new engines that can be called Turbo or even Sports Edition. Either one. The specs shows that this Suprima is slower than Preve which is a passenger car, hence just killing off the two terms used Turbo & S=Sport. We are not Proton bashers, but they really need to improve on the interior and engines to compete. The exterior design is acceptable compared to the current new lines of Honda which is getting bad. This car is indeed sporty but need to tune up! The interior and Engines seriously need to be considered, maybe hiring foreign designer like what KIA/HYUNDAI have done to their cars with Peter Schreyer! Think out of the box!

  • Simon Low

Which part did they insist that they design? The front grill?

  • zork

for 70K+, I would have thought that they design a more fresh looking design

  • Citizen

76-81k better buy Honda Jazz, look also odd & ugly.

    • Rene

If so go buy Jazz and no need to waste your time comment here. Please support Malaysian product. Jazz spec is much much more lower than this ok.

    • mtuse

I own swift. But i have to admit specs for suprima are much much better. Jazz cant compete with this car.even jazz cant beat swift.
Good design last longer. In fact, not so ugly.

    • sd

JAZZ design is already 10 years old… where are you before this?

  • Ripp87

Oh my gosh! This hideous manatee! My eyes hurt!

  • Mi757

With dat price, beter go for Honda Jazz….my friend just bought preve n guess what?after 1 hour drive from showroom the car breakdown and have to tow to proton service centre….when they inspect it, the car alternator already “kong”…what kind of QC does proton have?for brand new car, dis kind of issue shouldn’t happen..

I rather buying 2nd proton satria GTI or perodua car then buying new proton model…Satria GTI quality n performance is much better if compare with neo,gen 2 n preve….for proton, it seems like they are moving backwards while other car manufacturer such kia n hyundai already move forward and able to compete with continental and japan car….

  • keef

Would buy a used Civic with that kind of money

    • NONEOFABOVE

Honda Civic ?? Y dont u just compare it with AUdi or no, let me rephrased that .. y dont u make it a Range Rover instead? Geeezz.. Seriusly, has half of u all actually drove and test drive this car??? and im not even asking about owing it. Stick to the subject that has more educative or at least a creative point of view. If not.. Dont bother commenting PLS.

  • Supir-ma S

Are you sure RM 81,988 is the OTR price?

  • RYAN

Spec surprising…. jus mayb as a national car…can hicom offer us a better price? Bring the price to 70k for premium spec….then it really worth….

  • truman6

Proton OH Proton & their loyal supporters…its not because of japanese, european & korean cars are better in specs..its the quality that most important…

If you’re saying you people prefer good specs over anything..do you own & use any phones from Huawei or some brands that is more cheaper & powerful than samsung or apple? I don’t think so..u guys would go for cheaper samsung models instead of buying a higher spec high-ended china mobile phones..

    Same goes to cars.

  • Hunter

Such hate? I dont understand Malaysians nowadays. You shouldn’t bash a car that has just been launched whether its a proton or perodua in this case. Don’t judge to early. If you prefer your small honda jazz over this, then by all means stay away. Such stupid statements such as. “better get jazz than this liao..”, “jazz engine better than proton with Turbo meh..”. Such childish comments.

Save the bashing for the people who actually test drove the car or own the car in this case.

  • SupportMalaysian

until when everybody will said Malaysian Product is low? yesterday i saw BMW in the highway in the middle lane put open an emergency light and slowly move to emergency lane, my fren just keep quite, after that saw Proton, then they said Proton always have prob..why the double standard? then go everything from outside, no need to support Malaysian product anymore, no good right?

  • Driver

    70K – 80K for a locally made/assembled car?

  • Zene

why the Suprima S dosen’t have 5 speed manual transmission but Preve have?

    • [AMM]

5 speed manual on Preve isnt CFE rather the old CPS which is also found on Waja CPS and Neo CPS.

Facepalm at the others recommending Jazz over this, even the size isnt the same. Would u recommend someone who wants a bigger car but in that price range and u go “you should buy Jazz man. I know it isnt big while it is your main point but you should totally go for Jazz.”

  • Zene

why the Proton Suprima S don’t have 5 speed manual transmission and Proton Preve have?

  • nick

    another expensive car from proton.

    • kudata

so don’t buy lah.. apa bising sini. non added value comment.

  • protonohproton

proton proton…. preve every good? must ask worth buying or not? 70++ not i dont want to support preve but.. haiz..

  • leon

erm… saw the price already out of my budget to looking for Proton badge.

With the budget & slightly top-up could get better badge from Hyundai or Jap.

Proton still lack far behind of korean cars which is starting in 80’s generation. Still a Campro engine for Suprima? Can it be better than Campro or even need quiet engine+compressor idling noise?

  • Nano

I test drove this car. For those who never drive continental car will love this car.

The cabin sound is noisy, n suspension is bad (for me). Macam naik boat biler corner. Hard to believe this what proton can do.

  • Oldladydriver

Test drive the car yesterday. For me, #butaspecs. ..the car is ok.
    1. Design looks like ford focus…hahaha macam je but bigger
    2. Has reverse camera and front sensor..good for old lady like me
    3. Got turbo mehhhh….old lady sometimes wanted to drive fast..
    4. Autocruise…..good for my sakit lutut lorrr

All and all for 79k++…is a good price. In terms of engine, torque and suspension…for local car.. we should see that …Proton has improved a lot !! If they still produce a car using Waja engine…macamana ??? Then the bashing and comment berbaloi kot…..

  • dev

If u like the proton suprima s test drive it then see weather the features are worth it then choose wana buy or not simple as that no need kutuk all coz this is not a situation where u must buy choose ur self la if wan other car bay all means but no need criticize other effort. People should be proud that at lease msia has a national car manufacture and other countries dont realy have if u so smart to kutuk proton use that brains come up with a proposal to improve the car and propose it to the top management of proton words are easy

    • words are easy

punctuation marks are not that hard either…

  • Cool design but I think the color is not as good as design. They should have done for white color for more customers.Although its just my opinion.

  • Wan Without Prejudice

I’m seriously thinking about buying Honda Civic which is very2 pricy or maybe the sophisticated KIA Cerato. And I have tested these cars to the max. It is good. Ofcourse la..tengok la harga dia…Later came this Suprima guy..ahuh!. Seriously, at first I had doubt about the performance. So, I when to Proton Shah Alam to have a look. Still only the looks caught me but not the performance since I didn’t test drive it as I just read the specs. To many people la. Bukan beli pun. Try pun x..but just making the salesman busy. Apa la…! So, when I’m back in Dungun (outstation la…ceh!), I when to the nearest dealer..no one is test driving it..(Malaysians are very skeptical even to try it for fun…:(…huh! apa lagi..kasi try la…suprising…at location called Che Lijah on the way to Bukit Besi which is seriously winding road, Suprima S is doing 190 – 195 km/h with Superb handling!!! Not even with its tyres squinching. Not even a sound! When stepping the pedal above 100km/h this car accelerated like hell! We’ve entered LPT2 to test the top speed, clocking 220km/h huh!! Still there are still left room for some gas to press on but I chicken out last minute…(Ingatlah yang tersayang..hehehe) Well, to all Malaysian…stop being skeptical about Proton(now, not the old ones). The only thing that negative about this car is the noise at the tyres. I guess most cars with tune performance especially for handling have this problem. Hard suspension…SO, I booked this car…and save 50k with saving of 500 bucks on monthly installment. What I get is value for money…superb performance, 5 star safety features including cool accesories. Nice, Thank god for not buying those imported cars which nearly cost me 60% of my own house…Hats off to Proton without prejudice!!! Owh, thanks Taufik (salesman) for let me tested the car like hell…sporting maaaa…like this la if u want to be good salesman…hahaha…the test drive car is insured what..!

  • This could the best car proton ever produce…car of the year…?

  • Balraj Rajah

Come on la bro.. 220km/h. Iol..
I check out the car personally. Good design with bad interior quality. Planned to replaced my elegance for this but lucky saw all the ciplak things in it.. just an hint for you. Check it’s boot release lever. The whole compartment will move together with it. My elegance h/line more better when come to quality. Spec wise fine even though cant confirm whether all the safety thingy works or not but quality still kicap cap bayi.. Due to some die hard protector like you proton cannot grow. Jaguh kampung selama lama.

  • faridameer

Why you Malaysian are criticising Malaysian products cari lah kerja yang menghasilkan .If you dont appreciate Malaysian products or Malaysian cars dont call yourself a Malaysian.Sia sia saja

  • Brandon Yong Hock Guan

Proton Suprima S? Overall the car design is very normal for the first look although is a hatchback model. I think the designer need a fresh idea to redesign to make the car look better and more sporty. Please don’t be another “Preve face-lift” again. Otherwise Proton car engineering is just a same old style.
