Update: Check out the embedded post of our Facebook page below.
You know how YouTube videos and such can be embedded into third-party websites, so you can watch them directly on the page without having to leave it? Well, it looks like a similar thing will be happening for Facebook statuses because Facebook just announced a new Embedded Posts features. For now, embedded posts only works for a selected number of official Facebook pages – Bleacher Report, CNN, Huffington Post, Mashable and PEOPLE.
Embedded posts only works on statuses that are public. To access it, click on the globe icon next to the status and select “Embed Post” in the drop down menu. You’ll be given a code whereby you can copy and paste into your website. All liking and sharing can be done directly on the embedded posts, however, if you wish to comment, you will be redirected to the post itself.
Visit Facebook’s blog post for more information about the feature. While it’s stated that it’s only available for selected pages, if you wish to embed a public post into a post, yes it must be public, all you need to do is paste the direct link of the post into the code.
