Bay Trail is a codename given to Intel’s upcoming quad-core Atom SoC and it is generally the co-star of Intel’s campaign here at Computex 2013 alongside the new 4th generation Core processors a.k.a Haswell. During the company’s keynote earlier today, they took out a number of prototype devices that are equipped with the SoC and demonstrate its capability in several key areas.
These capabilities include 1080p video playback on Android as well as gaming on both Android and Windows. In addition to that, there’s also 4K video streaming over LTE which is done with the help of the new Intel XMM7160 LTE modem that the company announced back at MWC 2013.

There is exact release date for Bay Trail devices at the time being but Intel did mentioned that tablets powered by the SoC will be hitting stores during holiday season 2013 which generally means towards the end of this year.
