During a recent launch event for its refreshed line of touch-enabled laptops, Lenovo Malaysia revealed that there will be a new Y Series gaming laptop coming our way in two months. It appears that the laptop in question may just be the new IdeaPad Y510p, which quietly made its way to the Lenovo US online store.

Featuring the new 4th-gen Intel Core i7-4700MQ processor, the new Y510p laptop now also sports a 15.6-inch Full HD matte screen instead of glossy ones from the older Y500. Lenovo’s latest gaming laptop appears to have improved all around, with greater battery life (due to the Haswell chips) as well as a “slightly thinner profile”. From the Lenovo US online store, the new Y510p can also be configured with up to 16GB of RAM and a 1TB hard disk with 24GB SSD.

Of course, the party piece of the Y400/Y500 series is the ability to install a second GPU on to the laptop, replacing the DVD drive. Called the Ultrabay, the new IdeaPad Y510p is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GT750M GPU, while the Ultrabay can be equipped with a DVD burner/Blu-ray reader combo drive, or a secondary NVIDIA GeForce GT720M  GT750M GPU in an SLI array, further bumping the gaming performance on the machine.

The new Lenovo Y510p gaming laptop with SLI graphics is currently available in the US for a cool $1599 ($1299 with Lenovo’s eCoupon), but we can expect it to be somewhat cheaper when it makes its way here in a few months.
