As what we have mentioned earlier, Malaysian consumers are now able to pre-order* the new Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 at Nokia Stores starting from last Friday, December 7. That being said, Nokia Malaysia didn’t actually provide further details about the pre-order program.
Hence, we visited two Nokia Stores that are listed on the program’s official website – Sunway Pyramid last Friday and The Gardens earlier today – to learn more about it and found out that both stores require RM 200 as non-refundable cash deposit in order for customers to book their devices. Furthermore, both stores have confirmed that there will be no freebies for the pre-order customers in Malaysia unlike the free wireless charging plate that was offered in certain markets.
Not to forget, both stores have also stated that stocks are very limited. For example, Nokia Store at The Gardens has sold out all of its allocated units for the red Lumia 920 with only limited amount of units still available for yellow and white colorways at the time of our brief visit to the store. Plenty of units still available for the black coloured Lumia 920, though.
With no significant perks for consumers other than for them to secure their orders, we felt that it is rather an odd pre-order program especially coming from Nokia. Nevertheless, how many of you have actually pre-ordered any of the new Nokia Lumias?
