“Fun Ride, Now” – that’s the tagline of the new Chevrolet Sonic which was launched by the brand’s sole distributor in Malaysia, Naza Quest. Targeted at the younger generation such as young-upcoming executives and first-jobbers, the new Sonic comes with fresh styling, agile driving dynamics and a spirited engine – all within a competitive price tag.

Ok, we are not too sure about the last part of the statement…but, that’s what Chevrolet promises.

Anyway, the new Chevrolet Sonic is available in two different variants: five-door hatchback and four-door sedan.  Both versions are powered by 1.4-litre Ecotec D-CVCP engine with a maximum output of 99hp and 130Nm of torque that is coupled together with a 6-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic and toggle switch. The car’s suspension has been also been given what the company referred to as “Euro-Ride Tuning” treatment that promises smoother drive and better handling on the road.

Click on the “Continue Reading” link below to learn more about the new Chevrolet Sonic.

In terms of design, one of the most eye-catching parts of the new Chevrolet Sonic is its unique quad-bezel headlamp and chrome finished tail lamps. Inside, the Chevrolet Sonic is equipped with two-tone dashboard and features a motorcycle-style instrument cluster complete with analogue rev meter and digital speedometer.

There’s also the integrated radio, CD and MP3 player that is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity and USB port together with a remote control on the car’s steering wheel. Not to forget, there’s also 60/40 split-folding rear seat, dual airbags and rear cargo space of 466-litre for the sedan variant as well as 253-litre for hatchback.

Available in five colorways – Black Sapphire, Royal Gray, Oceanic Blue, Swithcblade Silver and Summit White – the new Chevrolet Sonic is priced at RM 76,888 for the sedan variant and RM 78,888 for hatchback.  For further information, visit Chevrolet Malaysia’s official website at www.chevrolet.com.my but for the meantime, do enjoy the rest of our encounter with Chevrolet Sonic below.
