A name that is not foreign in the world of telecommunication peripherals – Plantronics – has recently launched two brand new Bluetooth headsets in Malaysia. One of them is the new Voyager Legend which the company has dubbed as the world’s smartest headset.
Among the reason that dared Plantronics to make such claim is Voyager Legend’s Smart Sensor technology which allows user to answer a call simply by wearing the headset and is able to announce incoming caller’s name in which user can answer by saying “Answer” or “Ignore” to reject the call. The headset also supports several other commands via voice such as battery level and connection level which can be initialized by tapping the headset’s voice command button.
The new Plantronics Voyage Legend is also able to pauses music whenever there is an incoming call or when a user takes the headset off. It also comes with triple microphone setup that is fortified with active DSP, internal adaptive equalizer, acoustic echo cancellation, sidetone detection, stainless steel windscreens, acoustic fabric mesh and electronic filter in microphone’s circuitry to help minimize unwanted noise. Furthermore, the headset is also treated with an invisible coating called P2i to protect it against moisture and sweat.
Able to be paired up to two devices at one time, the Plantronics Voyager Legend has a talk time of up to 7 hours and a standby time of up to 11 days. It is also built with a proprietary snap-fit magnetic connector instead of the usual micro USB connector which is designed to assist users in connecting the headset to a compatible charger during tight situations such as when one is driving a car.
Plantronics has also come out with several optional accessories that is designed specifically for the new Voyager Legend such as a sturdy desktop charge stand and a charge case that comes with a built-in battery that is able to recharge the Voyager Legend headset up to two full charges. While they are certainly coming to Malaysia soon, no pricing information is available for the time being..
