Samsung is not quite done with its smartphone lineup for the year, as the South Korean tech giant is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26 FE next month. Beyond the final member of the S26 series, the more affordable devices could make their debut pretty soon. Shortly after the Galaxy A18 showed up on Geekbench, the Galaxy A08 and Galaxy A07s appeared on the SIRIM database.
Based on the listings, the duo received certification last week. The A08, bearing the model number SM-A085F, gained approval on 14 August 2026. Meanwhile, the A07s carries the designation SM-A077F and was approved a day earlier. As always, these entries don’t offer any notable information on the devices.
That said, the phones were also spotted on the Google Play Console. Apparently, both models will feature a 720 x 1,600 pixel display with a waterdrop notch. This shouldn’t be too surprising, though, since it’s the norm for the brand’s ultra-budget lineup. Furthermore, the devices are said to run on a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset with dual Mali-G57 GPUs.
While the phones seem to be quite similar, there are a few distinctions. The A08 will reportedly feature 8GB of RAM. On the other hand, the A07s is said to come with only 4GB of RAM. As for software, the A08 is said to run on Android 17 right out of the box, but the A07s will get Android 16.
Aside from these details, prior leaks have shed some light on the A08’s battery and possible launch timeframe. The phone’s battery will apparently have a rated capacity of 5,830mAh, which could be marketed as 6,000mAh. It’s notably higher than last year’s model, but charging speeds will likely be kept at 25W.
As to when the brand will be releasing the phones, the A08 is rumoured to debut sometime this month, which is about the same time its precursor launched. Further details on either device remain uncertain. It is worth noting that the current generation of Samsung entry level smartphones saw a price hike in July, with the A07 going from RM899 to RM1,049. So, we can probably expect the upcoming models to cost around that much at least.
