The new 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip is now available for purchase in Malaysia. Apple says the laptop is currently limited to orders through its official website, with in-store availability at The Exchange 106 and authorised retailers beginning tomorrow, 19 November 2025.
Introduced last month, the new 14-inch MacBook Pro retains the design as the M4 model, featuring the same chassis, Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and six-speaker system with Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio. It is offered in two colourways: Space Black, and Silver.

The laptop’s biggest upgrade is the new M5 chip, still built on a 3-nanometre process but now featuring a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine. Apple claims the chip delivers up to 20% faster multithreaded performance, up to 1.6x faster graphics in professional apps, and 3.5x better AI performance, including faster AI video enhancement in Topaz Video and quicker 3D rendering in Blender. SSD speeds are also said to be twice as fast.

Thanks to improved efficiency from the M5, Apple claims the new MacBook Pro’s battery life is rated at up to 24 hours. Additionally, it features a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with 3,024 × 1,964 px resolution, adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,600 nits peak HDR brightness.

The familiar port setup returns too, including MagSafe 3, three Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, HDMI, SDXC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, along with Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and a 12MP Center Stage camera for video calls. Last but not least, the laptop ships with macOS Tahoe out of the box.

In Malaysia, the new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 starts from RM6,999 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD configuration, from RM7,849 for the 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD, and from RM8,699 for the 24GB RAM and 1TB SSD option. For those who are planning to max out the laptop with top-end configurations, doing so will cost you a whopping RM14,519.
