HONOR recently confirmed that it will be bringing the Magic8 Pro to our shores soon. Ahead of the local launch, the brand showcased some of the flagship phone’s features, namely its photography capabilities. To best highlight the device’s imaging system, the company held an event on the 98th Floor of Merdeka 118.
The Magic8 Pro sports a triple camera setup, which includes what the brand is calling a 50MP “Ultra Night” main sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and OIS. In addition to the primary shooter, the phone features a 50MP ultra-wide lens with a 122° field of view. Of course, the star of the show is the telephoto camera, which also gets the “Ultra Night” designation.
According to HONOR, this telephoto lens achieves a CIPA 5.5-level of stabilisation with OIS. This is equivalent to the image stabilisation performance in a DLSR camera, preventing blurry pictures caused by shaky hands. Moreover, the Magic8 Pro comes with AI-powered image editing capabilities.
For now, HONOR is still playing coy with the other details. Aside from mentioning that the phone is “the Selected Photography Equipment for Visit Malaysia 2026”, the brand has not revealed any further information on the phone. Based on the model released in China, however, we can probably expect a 6.71-inch OLED 120Hz display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and a 7,200mAh battery. That said, this could change.
As for when the HONOR Magic8 Pro will be making its way here, the company has not revealed an official launch date yet. In the meantime, the brand suggests keeping an eye on its official website for more information.
