Proton has unveiled official images of the Saga MC3 on its social media platforms, just a week after the sedan made its appearance at the 47th ASEAN Summit. These images offer a clear look at the Saga’s exterior and interior, providing more detail than the previously camouflaged model displayed at the event. The sedan is also offered in three variants: Standard, Executive and Premium.

As reported earlier, the Saga features a completely redesigned front fascia, highlighted by LED projector headlamps paired with L-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs). These DRLs are seamlessly connected by Proton’s signature Ethereal Bow, now integrated into a full-width concave grille. The grille itself sports a pattern of black pin inserts which, according to Paultan.org, is inspired by Sulaman Songket.

The lower bumper now comes with full-width air vents, giving the car a sportier stance. At the rear, the sedan is fitted with full-width LED taillights connected by a light bar that carries the Proton script. A sculpted bumper with a diffuser-style lower section and subtle chrome accents further enhances its sporty appeal. Other features include redesigned wheels, chrome door handles and a sculpted roof with a small antenna.

The interior of the Proton Saga MC3 showcases a modernised and cleaner layout. Dominating the dashboard is a large dual-screen setup that combines the digital instrument cluster and infotainment display into a single, seamless panel. The Saga is said to be the first A-segment vehicle from the national company to offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto from the get-go.

It also comes with a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel, while the centre console houses a compact gear selector and manual handbrake, keeping it simple. Additionally, the seats appear to be upholstered in black leather with contrast stitching, giving the cabin a more premium feel.

In terms of performance, Proton has confirmed that the new Saga MC3 will be powered by a 1.5-litre Intelligent Green Technology (i-GT) four-cylinder engine, the same unit found in the X50, though without turbocharging or direct injection. While official output figures have yet to be revealed, the engine will be paired with a CVT transmission.

The latest Saga sits on a significantly reworked version of its predecessor’s platform, now referred to as the Advanced Modular Architecture (AMA). It is also said that the sedan will feature the ADAS safety suite for the first time, even if it’s only for the top-spec Premium trim.

At the time of writing, these are the only details available about the car. More information is expected soon, as the car is anticipated to be launched by the end of this year.
