After much teasing and speculation, Xiaomi has announced that its flagship Xiaomi 17 lineup will officially debut in the brand’s home market soon. To be more precise, the company will be launching the successor to the Xiaomi 15 series on 25 September 2025 at 7PM local time.
This lineup will include the base Xiaomi 17, as well as two Pro variants. While the vanilla version seems to still resemble its predecessor, the Pro and Pro Max models will come with a new design element: a secondary screen housed in the camera island.

For now, the brand has not revealed much about these smartphones. Aside from the rear displays on the Pro versions, we know that the lineup will be the first to debut with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Additionally, the phones will run Android 16 via HyperOS 3.
While Xiaomi is keeping the devices’ specifications under wraps for now, previous rumours have suggested that the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 2K resolution and ultra-thin bezels. Naturally, the bigger Pro Max model is expected to sport a larger 6.8-inch screen.

Internally, the regular Xiaomi 17 is said to pack a 7,000mAh battery, while the Pro will allegedly be equipped with a 6,300mAh battery. As for the Pro Max, it is rumoured to feature a capacity of up to 7,500mAh.
For cameras, all phones will reportedly come with a 50MP front camera. The Pro variants will apparently sport a triple 50MP setup comprising a main SmartSens 590 sensor, an ultra-wide camera, and a telephoto lens.
