Last week, HONOR teased the arrival of its newest rugged smartphone. Now, the brand has confirmed that the HONOR X9d will be making its debut in Malaysia on 24 September 2025. Ahead of the phone’s release, the company has shared a few more details on the device, although it is still keeping many of the device’s specifications a secret.
The X9d continues to focus on toughness and durability as the main highlight of the brand’s midrange X lineup, with a design meant to withstand accidental drops and extreme temperatures. According to the company, aside from receiving SGS Triple-Resistant Certification, the X9d is the first in the industry to gain an IP69K rating. This means that the phone is protected against high-pressure water, steam, and dust.
In addition to that, the X9d packs a massive 8,300mAh silicon-carbon battery with reverse charging capabilities. The brand claims that this allows the phone to last for an entire day even after being used to power another device. Of course, how the battery will fare in reality remains to be seen, but it is an upgrade compared to the 6,600mAh seen in the X9c.
As for any other improvements and enhancements, HONOR is still keeping these details under wraps until the phone is officially released. Speaking of which, the brand will be streaming the event on its Facebook page at 3PM on the day of the launch.
