Volvo has announced the official date for the unveiling of the EX60, which will be on 21 January 2026. The reveal of the SUV will be shown through a livestreamed event from Stockholm, Sweden. It will be built in the company’s Torslanda plant in Gothenburg, with production slated to begin in the first half of 2026.
The EX60 will be the first midsize SUV that is fully electric from the automaker. It will also be the first car launched on its latest technology base, which, as reported before, will be the SPA3 production architecture. According to Volvo, this new base will offer a longer electric range compared to other Volvo EV models.

To recap, only a glimpse of the SUV has been revealed so far, showing that its design has been inspired by the EX90 and EX30. This is evident from the picture shared by Volvo, which highlights the car’s iconic Thor’s Hammer headlights. In addition, it also appears to feature a similarly upright silhouette.
The SUV is also equipped with a new multi-adaptive seatbelt system that uses real-time data from both interior and exterior sensors to analyse the specifics of a collision and adjust the seatbelt’s response accordingly. By applying the optimal amount of force, it is designed to significantly reduce the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

According to the company, the EX60 represents a stepping stone in the company’s transformation into a fully electrified carmaker. It is a bold statement from the automaker, but whether it proves true will only become clear once the EV is launched.
