Xiaomi is already already pushing ahead with plans to expand its line-up. Recently, spy shots surfaced online showing what appears to be a new variant of the SU7 undergoing tests. The camouflaged sedan looks noticeably longer than the recently launched SU7 and SU7 Ultra.
The additional length of the car seems to have been added to the rear, and the only logical reason for this is to increase the space and comfort for the rear passengers. The current model of the SU7, which is marketed as a performance EV, has a length of 4,997 mm with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm and it is rumoured that there would an additional of 80mm to 150mm to the length of the car.

However, according to Arena EV, the character of the SU7 sedan would change with the additional length, as it focuses on the practicality and comfort of the passengers. That may not necessarily be the case, as there are many models with large dimensions that are practical without compromising performance, such as the Porsche Panamera.
Nevertheless, a longer body length requires several technical adjustments to the EV, such as retuning the suspension to ensure a balance between ride comfort and handling stability. Even so, the new model is expected to retain the SU7’s advanced 800-volt fast-charging architecture along with its sophisticated intelligent driving systems.

On the other hand, from the spy shots, it can be seen that most of the other design elements are still maintained, starting from the wing-shaped front fascia to the star-ring taillights. Furthermore, there are also spy shots revealing that a new trim of the YU7 is being tested as well.
In fact, a post from Weibo allegedly showcases that three new models are next in line from the automaker. Two of them are the YU7 and, according to the leaked information, it seems like these are a GT version and an extended-range SUV. Nevertheless, none of the information has been officially confirmed by Xiaomi, and the company has yet to provide any updates on the SU7 spotted undergoing tests.
