TnG Digital has rolled out an upgraded QR scanning feature in its TnG eWallet app, allowing users to scan more than just payment codes. The update enables the app to read menus, forms, tickets, and other non-payment QR codes, removing the need for a separate scanner app.

The company says the feature is designed to make daily tasks faster and more convenient, given how QR codes are now commonly used across dining, shopping, travel, and entertainment in Malaysia. To use it, users simply open the TnG eWallet app, tap the ‘Scan’ icon on the home screen, and point their camera at a QR code. Depending on the code, the app will then prompt users to make a payment, open a link, or save details.

The new QR capability adds to TnG eWallet’s existing financial and lifestyle services, which include e-commerce, bill payments, investments, insurance, and international remittance. TnG Digital says this strengthens its aim of positioning the app as an all-in-one digital companion.

To celebrate the launch, TnG Digital says users stand a chance to win eWallet credit or reload PINs by scanning non-payment QR codes. Alternatively, they can also participate by sharing their experience on social media with the hashtag #SatuAppSemuaQR.
