Sarawak’s own airline, AirBorneo, revealed its official logo during a special unveiling ceremony yesterday. Among those present at the event was the state’s Premier, Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
The logo carries the theme “Wings of Unity,” while the airline adopts the tagline “Borneo For You.” The airline also revealed its fleet livery during the event, which mirrors the logo’s design by featuring the red, yellow, and black stripes of the Sarawak flag over a white fuselage. A Malaysian flag is also displayed beside the airline’s branding.

Abang Johari hailed the carrier as a symbol of Sarawak’s growing confidence on the global stage. “AirBorneo will play a pivotal role in advancing the state’s Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS 2030), through improved ASEAN air links, job creation, supporting SMEs, strengthening infrastructure and contributing to our economic growth targets,” he said.
To recap, AirBorneo was officially introduced back in February, following Sarawak’s acquisition of MASwings. Poised to operate as a full-service carrier (FSC), the airline will take over and expand services previously offered by the former Malaysia Airlines Group (MAG) owned carrier, providing both full-service flights and essential Rural Air Services (RAS) to Sarawak’s remote communities.

Abang Johari also revealed that AirBorneo is slated to begin operations in January 2026. However, its routes and frequencies are yet to be determined.
