BYD is currently knows for its electric cars, but soon it may be adding consumer electronics to that. The Chinese brand has announced its self-developed tablet, and it’s one that can be used with a subsidiary’s upcoming SUV.
More specifically, the tablet will be able to integrate with the Fangchengbao Tai 7. This suggests an expanded infotainment experience, but BYD has not shared details on the way this works. In the same vein, the company has not shared details about the tablet itself either. But at the very least, the brand has shared a render of said tablet on its Weibo account.

For context, the name of sub-brand Fangchengbao directly translates to “formula leopard”. BYD has also filed to trademark the “Formula Bao” name in the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). On the other hand, the name of the SUV itself, Tai 7, translates to Titanium 7.
Ultimately, it’s still unclear for now if this tablet is a one-off to work with the subsidiary’s SUV, or if it’s a sign of it entering the consumer electronics market. CnEVPost reports that the Fangchengbao Tai 7 will be released in its home market in the fourth quarter of the year. That would probably when BYD reveals more about its plans regarding the tablet.
