Though this is not the first time the LinkBuds Fit has graced Malaysian shelves, it is the first time that it’s coming alongside a virtual idol. Sony Malaysia has officially launched a special collaboration between its LinkBuds Fit and Hatsune Miku, where this joint venture sees the (re-)release of the closed-type wireless noise-cancelling stereo headsets alongside virtual and physical items for Vocaloid fans. This collaboration can be purchased as early as today, 8 August.
Unlike traditional collaboration, however, the buds come as is — there are no special engravings or printed designs to signify the partnership. Instead, the first 50 customers will receive the Sony Store digital figurine of Hatsune Miku called the “Holomodel” and an acrylic stand.

Going in order, customers will receive two digital figurines of Miku alongside the campaign song. One model will have its own limited animation that sings and dances to the campaign song “BELIEVE DAY”, while the other is a static model that is meant to be posed and photographed. To access this bonus content, users must download the Gugenka Inc. app on their phones, where they can watch it as is or with AR. Furthermore, the app allows users to freely change the expression, pose, and size of Hatsune Miku to their liking.
On the other hand, the acrylic model features the virtual model leaping into the air and showing off the LinkBuds Fit in her ear. Underneath her is a wide base that features the two brands’ collaborative logo, which also doubles as a place to put the LinkBuds Fit headphone case.
Pre-orders for the Sony LinkBuds Fit start now, with a unit priced at RM999 which comes in black, white, and green colour schemes. If you want the Hatsune Miku collaboration model, then you will have to head down to the Sony Store in BBCC Lalaport, KL, and make your order there.
