BMW Group Malaysia unveiled the iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro and iX xDrive45 Sport alongside the X5 xDrive40i M Sport. Both these models are facelifts of the iX xDrive40 and iX xDrive50. According to the automaker, the name change has been implemented as both models have so much more to offer than a regular facelift.
So, let us see what the models have to offer, starting with the design elements. Both models feature the large controversial kidney grille, which has been redesigned with diagonal lines. It also comes with BMW Iconic Glow, which activates every time the doors open and close.
Additionally, the iX models also come with new adaptive LED lights, which now feature angled lighting. As for the M Sport model, it comes with diamond-polished 22-inch M aerodynamic wheels, meanwhile the xDrive45 Sport comes with 21-inch aerodynamic wheels. The rear features sharp and angular taillights and large diffusers. However, the taillights on the M Sport have a black hue to differentiate them from the Sport variant.
In terms of the interior, the EV SUV comes with ambient lighting and a Panorama glass roof. The front cabin is designed to be more driver-centric with the curved display and the centre console. The interior also features an 18-speaker, 655-watt Harman Kardon surround sound system. Exclusively for the new BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro, the standard M Sport Pro package includes the M emblem on the instrument panel, M multifunctional seats wrapped in Sensatec M upholstery in Black and Alcantara, and M stripes. It also comes with an M leather steering wheel.
The new BMW iX models come with an all-wheel-drive setup, 5th-generation BMW eDrive technology, and updated technical specifications for improved power and range. The iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro produces 400 kW and 765 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 200 km/h. It offers a WLTP range of up to 701 km, thanks to its 111.5 kWh battery. Fast charging is supported at up to 195 kW, adding 217 km of range in 10 minutes, while AC charging is available at 22 kW.
The iX xDrive45 Sport delivers 300 kW (408 hp) and 700 Nm of torque, achieving 0–100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and the same 200 km/h top speed. Its 100.6 kWh battery provides a WLTP range of up to 602 km.
