Huawei has announced that its new Pura 80 Series flagship smartphones will launch globally next month. As you may recall, the line-up was initially introduced in China earlier this month, comprising a standard model, a Pro, a Pro+, and an Ultra variant.
To recap, all models are running the brand’s first-party HarmonyOS 5.1 platform and share a consistent design language, especially when viewed from the back. Also commonly found on the four Pura 80 Series variants are IP68/69 resistance ratings, as well as support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and satellite connectivity.
The base Pura 80 has a 6.6-inch flat LTPO OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage, as well as a 5,600mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. Its camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with variable aperture, a 12MP periscope telephoto (5.5x zoom), a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 13MP selfie camera.
The Pura 80 Pro and Pro+ offers a 6.8-inch display with quad-curved glass, larger 5,700mAh batteries, faster 100W wired and 80W wireless charging, and USB 3.1 Gen 1. Both include 50MP 1-inch RYYB main sensors, a 48MP telephoto (4x zoom with macro), and a 40MP ultra-wide camera. The Pro+ also bumps RAM to 16GB and storage up to 1TB.
At the top, the Pura 80 Ultra retains the Pro+’s display and battery setup but boosts brightness to 3,000 nits. Its biggest highlight is a dual-lens periscope camera with 3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom using a mechanical lens-shifting system. It shares the 50MP 1-inch RYYB main sensor with enhanced dynamic range, plus a 40MP ultra-wide lens.
The Huawei Pura 80 Series is set to debut globally on 10 July 2025 in Dubai. While a local launch has yet to be confirmed, the forthcoming event is currently being promoted on Huawei Malaysia’s official website. Given that previous iterations of the series were released locally, it’s likely that the new models may eventually arrive in our market as well.
