There are many Chinese automakers that have entered the Malaysian market and one of them is Dongfeng, which is one of China’s largest automobile manufacturers. The company entered the Malaysian market with the Box, which has a starting price of RM100,700, and more recently it has hinted through a Facebook post that the company has two launches that might be happening soon. These are the Nammi 06 SUV and 007 sedan
The Nammi 06 made its debut at Auto Shanghai 2025 and, according to Paultan.org, is positioned as a competitor to the BYD Atto 2 in China. The SUV features T-shaped headlights connected by an LED light strip, while the front bumper houses a compact air intake with horizontally aligned bars. At the rear, it comes with vertical taillight units linked by another LED strip. Other features include wide wheel arches and flush door handles.
Inside, the cabin is equipped with a 12.8-inch central touchscreen and a slim 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. The gear selector is positioned behind a two-spoke, oval-shaped steering wheel. The central tunnel includes a hidden storage compartment and a wireless charging pad. The vehicle comes standard with six speakers, while higher-spec variants offer heated, ventilated, and massaging seats.
As for the powertrain it has a 184 PS front electric motor is fed by either a 44.94 kWh battery for a 401 km CLTC range, or a 51.87 kWh battery for a 471 km CLTC range.
The Dongfeng 007 sedan, originally introduced in 2024 as the eπ 007, is offered in both fully electric and range-extended (REEV) versions for the Chinese market. Built on the Quantum Architecture No. 3 platform, it boasts a sleek fastback profile, including a low drag coefficient of 0.209. Stylish touches include frameless doors, optional scissor-style front doors, and an active rear spoiler – also optional – for added flair.
Inside, the 007 offers a panoramic glass roof, a sculpted steering wheel with a slightly oblong shape, and a dual-display setup featuring an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch infotainment. There’s also wireless charging and an immersive 20-speaker audio system, with some speakers even built into the headrests.
Performance-wise, customers can choose from several configurations. Single-motor variants deliver either 218 PS with 310 Nm or 272 PS with 320 Nm, while the dual-motor version offers a punchy 544 PS and 640 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Battery options include 56.83 kWh and 70.26 kWh packs, providing CLTC ranges of up to 620 km. Meanwhile, the REEV model combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with the base electric motor and a 28.39 kWh battery, offering a total range of 1,200 km and an electric-only range of 200 km.
As mentioned above both these cars are stated to be coming soon to Malaysia. However, details on launch is yet to be revealed by the company.
